Sometimes people you don’t recognize show up in your dreams.

But really, you do recognize them.

They're faces of people you've passed by on the street, people who've filled your car up at the gas station, who've served you at the bar, whom you've shaken hands with but forgotten the names of. 

Your subconscious is incapable of drawing up a completely new face and introducing it in your dreams.

all of which is just to say that the strangers in your dreams are really not strangers at all.
